Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

by J. K. Rowling

Review by Kaylee C.

This book was about a fourteen year old boy named Harry Potter. He began his fourth year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. This year they have been told that there will be an unexpected surprise taking place at the school. Dumbledore announces that the Triwizarding Tournament will be taking place at Hogwarts this year and that two new schools will be joining them. There is to be one Champion from each school but somehow there are two champions from Hogwarts.Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory were both chosen to go to the tournament. With help from his good friends Ron and Hermione, Harry makes it past the Dragon for the first Event. With help from another champion Cedric, harry makes it through the second task of freeing his friends from the merpeople. The third and most important task was a maze. They were to go through the maze to find the Triwizarding cup.Harry and Cedric make it at the same time and decide to take the cup at the same time, not knowing that it was a portkey. They turn up in a grave yard and watch an evil mastermind come back from the dead. As lord Voldemort is returned, Cedric is killed, and Voldemort is returned to his body. Lord Voldemort calls to his supporters and Harry is forced to wait to determine whether Voldemort is going to kill him or let him go. After Dueling with Voldemort he is told to get the portkey and it will take him back to Hogwarts by his deceased father. Harry returns to the school carrying Cedric back to his family. Harry is awarded the Triwizard champion. Now the only problem is that no one believes that Lord Voldemort has returned. Now it is his word against the ministry of Magic.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love seeing through all of the books how much Rowling grows with the characters and I like to see that it is always a new adventure with these books. It will never be the same thing twice.

My favorite character is Hermione because she is loyal and she always looks out forHarry and Ron to guide them out of trouble and help keep them caught up with school. I don’t think that I relate to any specific character in the book.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that asked me for a good book because this kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I couldn’t put it down.
I did like the way that it ended but I think that if I had the option of changing it I think that I would have wrote it so that Cedric didn’t die and people believed Harry about Lord Voldemort coming back.

I think that as far as rating goes I give this book a 5/5 like I said I loved this book and I couldn’t put it down. It was great and J.K. Rowling does an amazing job.
