    A New School for a

              New Beginning...

The Center for Educational Excellence in Alternative Settings (CEEAS) is excited to announce that we will be opening a new school inside of the Orleans Justice Center (OJC), the pre-trial detention center (jail) for individuals charged as adults in New Orleans. The Orleans Justice Center (OJC) is operated by the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, under the supervision of a court-appointed monitor. For years, the Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) has run a small tutoring and academic enrichment program inside of the Center.

Effective August 2017, CEEAS will convert the tutoring program into a full-scale school designed to meet the needs of teens and young adults between the ages of 16 and 21 held at the jail.  The school will be modeled off of the the Travis Hill School, which we now run at the New Orleans juvenile detention center.  We are excited to build on the good work that has been done at the Travis Hill School and are looking for committed staff to who want to be a part of the team that will transform the educational program at the OJC.
